Ellen as a American Idol judge? discuss.

Eh... not so sure about that.

I'm not a huge AI person, but I do usually watch it since DH does. That doesn't seem like a great fit though, IMO. I like her ok, she's just a tad much for me sometimes.

    haha, I saw a headline to that effect. I have never watched this show or felt tempted to, but gotta say w/ Ellen I'd be more inclined to watch. It changes the dynamic, for sure.

    But what does she know about music and being a rock star??

    I love Ellen, she is hilarious to me and I really like how genuine she seems. But the judges on AI are usually in the music industry, and Ellen really doesn't seem to fit that. I don't watch AI though...

    I think it will definitely be interesting and look forward to seeing how it changes the dynamic of the show. I love Ellen though and think she is so genuine and hilarious. She admits she has no music industry experience and will judge from the perspective of someone "who would potentially buy the music" and I think that's fair.

    I like that! She definitely has fun taste in music and I would be more interested in watching AI if she was on.

    I am so excited about this! I LOVE Ellen, and she has always been a huge AI fan. I think she's so funny and sweet and hopefully and Lord knows anybody would be better than Paula. I know that on her show she was always talking about how mean the judges are, so I'm guessing that she'll be the new "nice" judge.

    I saw her as a guest judge on So You Think You Can Dance and liked her a lot in that sort of position.  She knew nothing about dance either, but she gave her opinion based on what she enjoyed watching.  Should be interesting :)

    I love Ellen and would much rather see Ellen than the trainwreck that is Paula Abdul.  Not sure how great of a fit she'll be - hopefully it'll work out though b/c I do really like her!

    I stopped watching the show a while back.  I dont think Ellen is a suitable judge, but she has quite a following.  I'm not a big fan of hers either.
