I had my ET yesterday morning (11:30) and stayed at the RE's office lying down until 1ish. Then I went home and basically laid down the rest of the day / night. Today, I decided I wanted to go back to work since I'm in an office job and my RE said it was okay. I went back and had a few meetings that involved a fair amount of standing but sat in my office most of the rest of the day. I felt awful pretty uncomfortable and just had a horrible feeling I had done bad things for the embryos transferred though. Has anyone followed a similar schedule with success from IVF?
Caveat: I did also have a kidney stone removed on Tuesday (day before transfer) which likely contributed to not feeling so well...and I have a stint in now which is also giving some slight discomfort.
Re: did I screw everything up (et-related)?
No, I'm sure you didn't screw anything up. As long as you didn't so any heavy lifting or extensive exercise, you'll be fine. Take it easy tonight if you still aren't feeling well.
I hope you feel better!
You crazy lady!! Funny my RE tells you to just lay there for 5 minutes. I thought it was longer but since it wasn't I plan to go to work afterward.
Do take it easy. It won't be because of this that it didn't work. GL girl, I look forward to your beta!
Thanks MB! GL with your ET tomorrow. I know every RE is different...some say 48 hours of bedrest and others are like yours - mine falls somewhere in the middle, I guess...I think I was just feeling overly paranoid.
I'll be thinking of you since we'll probably get our betas right around each other.
I asked my dr. at my ER what time I'd need after ET so I could plan for a sub. She told me just the day of and that I could resume normal activity the next day. I know every RE recommends different things but wouldn't worry too much. You were smart to listen to your body's signals and think it's completely normal to feel a little yucky after all you've gone through. I'd try to take it easy as much as possible tomorrow and spend the weekend relaxing. GL!
