Is anyone planning to make their own baby food or only use organic baby food?

Just curious.

Thanks!

  • I plan on making my own food. It seems so easy and will cost much less than buying jars.
  • I plan on making my own food.  Some people think I am crazy but I dont care.
  • I'm going to be making the baby food.  There are a lot of great websites out there, and it seems to be pretty straightforward.

  • I'm going to TRY. Try being the key word! I'll be working fulltime so we'll see how it goes!

  • Yup I'm going to be doing my own food and all organics as well.
  • I am going to try making my own, and possibly organic. I have a library book right now but it is more for toddler ages, called The Toddler Cafe by Jennifer Carden. Establishing healthy eating as a lifestyle is so important to me and DH since we did not have that growing up. I see my nephew living on corn dogs, popsicles and frozen pizza and it makes me cringe!

  • I did with DD it was so much cheaper and healthier for her.

I just cooked and mashed food into ice cube trays and then would feed the cubes to her.  Perfect serving sizes.

edited to add that https://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/ is the best site ever for making your baby food.

  • I'll be a SAHM so I'll be making all the baby food. I mean how hard is it to throw fresh fruit or steamed veggies into a blender or food processor?

  • We are planning on making our own food too! I love to cook. Super excited about it!
  • I PLAN on it, but I am not sure if I will be able to make ALL of the baby food. This reminds me.... i need to buy a food processor!

  • I made all my own baby food for my daughter and plan to do it again for this baby. It was really fairly easy - just a couple of hours a week was all it took to stock my freezer.

  • I will be working full time, but plan on making my own baby food.  I want to use an all organic diet and feel that it is more affordable for me to do this while making my own food.  I plan on making the food on Sunday for the week and freezing as necessary.  Hopefully it will work out.

I was just looking at the Baby Cook...it's not that expensive and doesn't seem that time-consuming, so I plan to make my own using the Baby Cook.

  • I'm planning on it.  I had to make one of our dog's food when he was having weird allergy/stomach ulcer issues, so my reasoning is that even if making my own baby food is more of a hassle than buying it, nothing could be worse than pureeing chicken livers.  Ick.  (Not that I'm equating babies with dogs, it's just that once you've accidentally splattered poultry guts on your kitchen wall, running some nice innocent fruits and veggies through a food processor seems like no problem!)
  • I did with DD, and plan to do it again. DD was only on purees for maybe a month or so before transitioning to table food... the puree stage was EASY compared to figuring out how to prepare appropriate table food for a 7-month-old!

  • I used mostly organic.  I was going to go the whole make-my-own route but it was just so much more convenient to buy Earth's Best.  Once DD could eat more chunk foods we'd puree whatever we were having but I never got into the whole ice-cube, baby recipe thing.  For me, it was just too time consuming.

  • I'm planning on making my own. It doesn't seem very difficult, just a little bit of planning is necessary. It seems that a lot of ingredients that I already eat (whole grains, fruit, veggies, lean meat) are in baby food so it won't be that different to shop. I will get a cookbook for ideas.
