It seems like everyone's dr checks hcg until it gets back to zero after a mc. I saw a different dr in the practice when I first mc. At that point my hcg was somewhere in the 3000s, and she told me we would monitor my levels back to zero. But then my dr decided not to check them at all.
At this point it's a moot point, because I've had a post mc period, but I'm just curious if anyone else didn't get their levels checked.

D&C here.
OB told me that if I hadn't had my AF by my 4 week follow up appt that we would do a blood draw to check HCG. Otherwise he doesn't follow it for D&C's.
I'm almost 3 weeks out and have POAS and only see a faint faint line so I think I'm gonna be just fine.
If you're concerned I'd say POAS at 3-4 weeks post loss. If you're seeing a definite line I'd ask for the draw.
I think the concerns about complications are greater with a natural loss than a D&C.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
