My RE said it's not absolutely necessary but he did say that gravity does play some part and when you stand up some of it could spill out. He definitley did not advise running on the treadmill or jumping on a trampoline after sex.

Some posters have mentioned an increased chance of getting a UTI or yeast infection or something from doing this but if doctors are recommending it or at least saying it doesn't hurt things then maybe other posters were wrong?
*gasp* you mean I can't trust everything random people on message boards say as absolute fact?!?
I try to do this every time, and I have to say it's rather annoying! Obviously if we FWP before bed or something like that it's fine but knowing i have to lie down afterwards definitely hinders the spontaneity of doing it in new places in the house.
I have to get up right after sex and go to the bathroom. If I dont UTI City..... and they are a biotch cause they hurt!! I will just have to hope they are good swimmers on their own....
Re: and the whole theory on laying down for 30 mins after FWP......
you don?t HAVE to, but some doctors recommend it.
def. doesn?t hurt anything. some of us are desperate, okay?
I AM!! I have layed there for hours waiting for it to do it's magic trick...... OK so I fell asleep but I do not move for at least 20 minutes after.
