The other day when I went to put DS in the car I noticed the base was a bit loose.  To my surprise, when I tightened up the belt, the base bent from the adjustment.  Has this happened to anyone else?  Do I have to get a new base now?  I'd prefer to use the LATCH, but I'm not sure it's compatible with the center seat of my 2002 Civic Confused.

    Check your manual and see where it shows the latches at. If there are only latches on either side seat it's not meant to be used for the middle position, but if it shows latches at all three seats you can use the seat anywhere.

    i don't know about the base, but i have a 2002 civic also and it doesn't have latch in the center back seat.

    I also have an 02 civic I went to a car seat check and they installed my graco base using LATCH behind my passenger seat. The police officer doing it said that was the safest installation for my car.
