Ryan is really sick :(

Just when you think you are totally out of the woods and away from all of the horrible NICU memories... BAM!

Ryan got a cold after being at an evening baseball game Friday night. He woke Sat with a runny nose. Then as the day went on he seemed very congested and a bit wheezy by night time. He woke at 11pm and would not sleep for longer than 15 mins at a time all night due to coughing and trouble breathing. At 7am it was so bad we called his grandpa, a pedi, and took him over there. I had not slept all night and was feeling really dizzy and nauseous due to being up all night and being pg so DH let me stay home. Grandpa decided he needed to see his reg pedi who did a breathing treatment and then sent him to the hospital for an xray. He just called us back and said he has pnuemonia and if he does not improve by late afternoon or tonight he wants him admitted ! I am not doing very well and would appreciate any prayers you ladies can send. I cannot imagine being back in the hospital w/ breathing problems.

I might feel better if my little was in the hospital under those circumstances, but of course, hope that is not necessary! Praying for you all...

Thanks so much. I just got off the phone with the doctor and he was happy with how Ryan is doing right now and said we'll just continue to watch him at home. He is on a oral steroid, getting breathing treatments 4 x per day and taking an antibiotic. His resp. rate was down to 46 during this nap so the pedi was happy about that even though he is still wheezing a lot. We are supposed to call if he starts having trouble catching his breath again and then we'll have to be admitted but hopefully he'll be ok with all the home treatments. It did come on very fast and so it has been a scary 18 hours. Thanks for the support as usual.
