Baby Showers

What size diapers?

Would you say are best for a diaper cake. And how many for 3 tier? And which ones are mostly white? My cousin bought a big box of Pampers baby dry size 3 and she got them home and they are sesame street!! TIA!

Re: What size diapers?

  • When I make diaper cakes I like to use size 2 diapers...and I usually get pampers. You can turn most diapers around so whatever design is on the fastening area can be hidden?!! Sometimes I even roll each diaper and fasten with a rubber band. I don't know of any off hand that are mostly white anymore. :O(     Also, depending on how you decorate the diaper cake can really cover a lot...wide ribbon...etc. Good Luck!!

  • I always buy one big box (100 or so) of pampers swaddlers size one.  I make my cakes huge, so you could get away with a smaller box.

  • What my SIL did for the diaper cake she made for me was she wrapped each tier with a folded up receiving blanket.  It made for a really cute diaper cake and I got some cute blankets too.

  • I got a diaper cake for my shower that was premade, I took it apart yesterday and they were all NB size...I didn't count how many there were but it was enough to fill my diaper stacker....they were also sesame street lol

  • I like size 2  pampers swaddlers.  They seem to be mostly white.  I buy a box of about 100 and use the clear hair rubber bands from goodies.
  • I made a big cake for my niece and used size newborn, ones and twos.  I think they all have patterns nowadays.  I didn't roll the diapers but you could do that.  I also didn't use rubberbands.  I put the diapers around a center rolled up receiving blanket with all the tops (waistband) in toward the blanket.  I probably used 60 or more diapers on the bottom (size 2).  Then for the next layer I did the same and used size ones.  For the top layer I used newborn.  I then tied a ribbon around each layer and put it on a covered LARGE serving tray.  There was a teddy (same color as ribbon) on top.  I wrapped the whole thing with netting material (used for veils) and put a huge bow on it.
  • You could use adult diapers for the bottom tier, if you're looking for something a little bigger.

I love the diaper cake my sister made for me. I'm having a boy and the Up&Up Diapers from Target have blue and green dots around them. She used sizes 1, 2, &3 for the tiers and gave me the rest of the diapers in a little diaper caddy.
