TTC After a Loss

back from the OB and the witch (MIL)

Thanks for all of the advice! It wasn't as bad as I thought it might be.

First, I like the OB, she is cool and laid-back, but very knowledgeable. She told me to "be careful reading so much on the internet because there is a lot of trash out there" but DH assured her I am a *somewhat educated* reader.

The best part is that she hooked us up with orders to get all the tests done for antibodies (is that called RPL??? there isn't a specific name for it here) as well as genetic karyotyping (sp?). She said that normally she doesn't do it for 1st time pregnancy losses, but since it was my first pregnancy and DH's dad is an OB, she offered the hook-up, which I thought was very proactive. She is also a specialist in high-risk pregnancies, so that is good to know.

Finally, dinner with MIL wasn't ALL bad. I was happy that she invited her best friend (who talks ALL the time) to keep things light. I mostly kept quiet, but with the friend there, no one even noticed. I am glad I went because I do feel a tiny little bit less hatred for her, maybe I will be able to move on from this. It will just have to be forgive and forget, because an apology looks less and less likely (it has already been 1 month since she said that to me).

But anyways, thanks for all of the advice and support, ladies. Have a great evening!

  • Im glad you made it through dinner with your MIL.  Im sure as long as its not just the two of you together you'll do fine with her.  And good luck with your test results!

    Thanks, Emma!

  • I had to go back and catch up on why you hate your MIL. So sorry... I had major issues with mine when we first got married, but the m/c has actually brought us closer together. I hope as time goes by you can find a way to work things out. I know how bad it sucks to fight with DH and have that stress in your life.
