head positioning in car seat

I've only had LO in a car seat a few times to go to the dr., but her head seems so uncomfortable when she's in there. We have the Graco travel system with the infant car seat, and it does have a head positioner. But, the positioner is way too big for her head, so her head sags down unless I hold it up. I tried putting burp cloths on either side of her head, but it didn't help.

Anyone else have this problem?

Try rolling receiving blankets and placing on either side of her body. Just don't add any aftermarket products or put anything between her body and the back of the seat (between her and the straps). These have not been tested with the car seat and could affect the way it acts in a crash.

We bought this at Target. He was a preemie so it had to pass the NICU's criteria.

You can buy head positioners that are smaller and fit inside the bigger positioner that comes with the car seat. That is what DD used until just recently she grew out of it. They are pretty inexpensive. Bought ours at BRU:
