becoming nauseated. I take Phenergen(sp?) for nausea a night and am usually feeling okay in the morning until I brush my teeth. Once I brush my tongue I begin to feel nauseated and my stomach starts contracting like I'm going to vomit. I usually end up gagging a little and my stomach is upset for a while.
I know it would be easy to simply not brush my tongue but it leaves a film on my tongue and it's just plain nasty.
I've tried holding my breath but it doesn't help much. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Re: Tips for brushing teeth w/o...
I have had to stop brushing my tongue most of the time and just being sure to use Listerine to help with the icky tongue feeling. That is much less gross to me than starting a morning of throwing up.
I had to switch to regular paste b/c my toothpaste w/Scope was breaking my tongue and lips out
Try a tongue scraper after you brush and then rinse with Listerine.
Here's what I do.......I had the toothbrush gag horribly for DD!!
1)I make sure to brush my tounge first because there is less toothpaste froth built up at the very begining.
2)Do it very quickly and don't breath because when you do, you'll smell and taste the toothpaste and, well........
3)Then continue to the rest of your mouth (breathing can resume lol). Spit often and make sure you are distinctly over the sink (don't do it standing up like normal) because gravity will help you not feel like the toothpaste/toothbrush will gag you.
Sounds ridiculous, no? Try it, you'll see.
