XP Reflux Mamas

We went to the pedi today, and he finally gave us an RX for reflux (lonnnnnng time coming, they suspected we had it when we were in the NICU). Thankfully, we seem to have a mild case of it, but we are starting prevacid tonight and he wants to try to keep D on an incline as often as possible, including for sleep.

If your LO has to sleep on an incline what did you use to do it? A sleep positioner/ which one? Or a crib wedge-if so, will this work in a PNP?

Thanks!

  • If he's in a crib, you can actually just lower one side of the crib rails.

Robbie actually sleeps on a boppy, but I don't recommend that for anyone not using a monitor.

  • We were told not to use sleep positioners, so we basically stuffed pillows and towels under mattresses to incline all of sleeping areas. Good luck!
  • Ruby was sleeping in a cosleeper bassinet when she came home, and we just took the wheels off one side to make it inclined. On bad days, she would sleep in the bouncy seat. We used a sleep positioner for a short time, but she would slide down it, so it wasn't very helpful. In a pack and play I would think you could roll up a receiving blanket and put it under one side of the mattress? Good luck!
  • We use a fisher price baby papasan, which is like a stationary bouncer.  We used it with DS #1 who also had reflux
  • we had DS on an incline sleeper.  I think ours was made by Dex and had two removeble rolls on the sides.
  • textbooks under the foot of the bassinet. obviously this wouldn't work for a bed with wheels or not on carpet.
