TTC After a Loss

meeting with OB tomorrow

I'm excited to be meeting with the OB my GYN recommended tomorrow. I was scheduled to meet with her two days after my m/c, but for obvious reasons I didn't go. So now I'm actually going to meet her and have a chat about our plan for this next go. I also need to make sure that I can understand her, since I don't think she speaks English!

I'm glad to have little things like this to look forward to while I'm waiting to O! I hate waiting, patience has never been a virtue of mine!

Does anyone have any suggestions on questions I should be asking? I already have an appointment with a hematologist in three weeks and my FIL (OB also) is getting me to do some other tests (for infections???). Aside from that, if anyone has any advice, it would be highly appreciated!

Re: meeting with OB tomorrow

  • I would just meet with her and see if you gel with her. Good luck!

  • Hmmmmm...I have no clue. Sorry, I am of no help.

My SILs FIL is an OB from Argentina. He practices in Chicago now.

    Hope all goes well tomorrow!

  • If you like her I'd ask how she treats new pg's after m/c's. Does she treat them as any other pg or will she offer more u/s, b/w etc?

How she feels about you being proactive and researching things on your own.

  • Awesome. Thanks a lot for the answers!

That's an interesting coincidence! Where is your SIL's FIL from? Do you happen to know where he went to med school here? My FIL went to school in La Plata and is around 63 years old...maybe they might know one another?

It is super handy having him to guide me...(he also hooks us up with prescription pads so all we have to do is call and he tells us how to fill them out for whatever we need! of course he knows we won't abuse that, so it's really nice that we don't actually have to go to the doctor!) He is also the reason I am getting bloodwork done after my first m/c, he offered to help me find a good hematologist to get to the bottom of this asap. I thought it would be wierd, but not at all, he has been so much help.
