Pricing out options for our playroom and wondering if I should get a beanbag for some soft seating instead of an Anywhere Chair or something similar. My thinking is that something like that is going to grow with him a lot longer than an AC. I can picture him using his beanbag when he's 12 or 13, not an AC. WDYT?
Re: Beanbag instead of Anywhere Chair?
It seems a little unlikely to me that a $30 beanbag chair is going to last him for 13 years, but that may just be me.
I bought the Anywhere Chair but I never thought to myself that she wouldn't be using it when she was 15, you know? But I knew she'd probably use it a lot until she was five or so, so I figured I'd get my money out of it that way.
This is no $30 beanbag. I'm looking at the one by Land Of Nod. It gets great reviews for being so sturdy. Okay... so maybe it won't make it until he's 13
But maybe 8 or 9??

This makes more sense. I was thinking of the cheapie character ones from Wal-Mart or whatever. I like this one and if you're going for soft seating, this will last longer than the Anywhere Chair.
you know and really...by the time he's 8 or 9...he'll be sitting on the regular furniture anyway.
Noooo!! He is never allowed on any of my furniture evah!!!
Beanbag chairs are great. DD had one that we gave to DS. She's used it in her room since she was a year old. It's held up for 8 years & counting.
ETA: It's a nice cloth zippered one. I don't think it would've lasted if it were the plastic type.
well dang...blew my theory right out of the water
We bought Emerson an Anywhere Chair awhile ago and are considering a beanbag for Christmas. The ones I've seen a fairly expensive but, then, what isn't?
ETA-that's the one I was looking at Donkey. I think they would use it until first or second grade.
I've been comparing the one from PBK to the LON one and the LON beanbag ends up being much cheaper, plus it seems to be a little sturdier (and I like the look of it better).
