We have a huge stone fireplace that is two-way between the living room and another room. It's got to be like 12 feet long, a couple feet deep. Picture a big rectangle with an angled side in the middle of our house. There are low concrete ledges on both sides--perfect height for a baby to get hurt. Additionally, stones poke out all over so it's not safe anywhere, and it looks like babies would love to try to climb it.
Any ideas on how to try to baby-proof??? We don't want to use the ledge guard thingies b/c we heard the adhesive is really hard to get off, and plus, that only solves a tiny bit of the problem.
Is there any way to fence it off? Can we just teach baby to avoid it? Buy padding and wrap the entire thing like a big cocoon?
