umbillicord smells

My 10 day old's umbillicord started to bleed yesterday. I called the dr and she said it was fine and probably just got tugged a little bit. She wanted me to keep the area clean. Today i noticed that the cord area smells. The bleeding has stopped and there are no other issues; puss, fever, redness etc. I called the dr but haven't heard back. Any others expereience this with their LOs?

DD's cord fell off a long time ago but it still smells a bit sometimes. As long as it isn't ***/bleeding you should be o.k. Nothing to be concerned about.
