We're having our air vents and dryer vent cleaned today. My husband just told me the hose on the back of our dryer came loose from the vent months ago and we've been dumping lint behind the dryer all this time (which explains why the laundry room was always so dirty). Apparently this is a HUGE fire hazard and we're lucky we never burned the house down.
My absolute biggest fear is fire (I witnessed a house fire as a small child) and the very thought of this has sent me into a panic. I'm shaking as I type this. Thank God we had the vents cleaned...I shudder to think about what could have happened, especially once Katie was here.
