::waves hi at GP:: Good morning ladies!
I am so excited for football to start back up this weekend! We watched a few games last night even though we don't follow any of those teams. Our friends always have GTG for games and I need to get a few new recipes for this season.
What are your favorite tailgate or party recipes?

Re: Tailgate/Party recipes
I'm a chips and dip gal and LOVE buffalo chicken dip. (I make it in the crockpot and oven, either way it's good).
1/2 c. sour cream or no-fat plain yogurt
1 can of canned chicken or 2 c. shredded cooked chicken
1/4 c. red hot, or to taste
Combine cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Add chicken and mix well. Slowly add Red Hot to taste.
In an oven-safe dish, heat for 20 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
Serve with tortilla chips or fresh veggies. May also be served chilled.
Our friend makes bacon wrapped stuffing. Not a diet food! I've never made them but they sure do go fast.
-make stuffing according to package directions. Let cool a bit so you can handle it.
-take spoonfulls of stuffing and roll into a ball
-wrap with half a slice of uncooked bacon and place on a cookie sheet
-bake in the oven until the bacon is browned, about 375 or 400 for a few minutes, you've got to watch them
-you can serve warm, but most often my friend serves them room temp.

Armadillo Eggs
jalepano peppers
cream cheese
bacon
Cut the peppers in half (longways) and remove the membranes. Fill with cream cheese and wrap with bacon. You can put them on the grill or cook them in the oven at 275 until the jalepanos are completely soft (about 45 min).
If you don't wan the peppers hot, cut in half and remove the membranes and soak them in water overnight.
I do have a good recipe but it's at home
I will try and google it.
Ham BBQ might be good and it's really easy.
Sautee 2 lbs. chipped ham (Isaly's is best but that might be a Pittsburgh brand), a small chopped onion and a few minced garlic cloves. Add a bottle of Heinz Chili Sauce and maybe a 1/2 C of ketchup. Salt and pepper to taste.
Fiesta Nacho Pizza - I call them Taco Bites
Cresant roll dough - roll out into one flat sheet and pinch together the seems. Bake according to package directions, but don't let it get too browned, I do it for 2 mins less then the package says. Let cool completely. I always make 2 at a time, the cheese mixture is usually plenty for both.
1 package of softened cream cheese, 1 cup sour cream, 3 tbsp taco seasoning mix, I use low sodium, 1 glove minced garlic, splash of lime juice. Mix together and let sit while the dough cooks and cools.
Dice your fav. pizza or taco toppings. I use yellow bell pepper, green bell pepper, diced tomato, 1/4 of a red onion diced, 1 cup shredded cheese, and a generous handful of blue corn nachos crumbled. I use the blue corn for the color, but you could use whatever you like. You can also add any toppings you want, but try to use different colors.
Cut into finger food sized pieces and serve. I make the dough ahead so it cools completely then top as close to serving as possible.

It's a dip with corn, beans, jalapenos (i think) avacado, etc.

I don't have anything original. My ideas are basic stuff like:
Taquitos
Salsa and chips
Queso dip
Buffalo Wings
Veggies and blue cheese
Potato Salad is always so good
I make this too and it is soooo good! My recipe is a little different though.
One 8-oz package of cream cheese. I prefer Philadelphia Cream Cheese
1/4 to 1/2 cup of blue cheese or ranch dressing (whichever one is your favorite -- I prefer blue cheese)
1/2 cup hot wing sauce (it's gotta be Frank's Wing Sauce!)
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2 cups cooked shredded chicken (I usually use chicken breasts and boil them)
Two minced green green onions
Heat oven to 400-degrees Mix softened cream cheese with all ingredients, except shredded cheese, in the baking dish (no need to grease the pan). Then, after all the ingredients are mixed together, mix in HALF the shredded cheese. Place mixture in oven, uncovered, and bake for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, top the dip with the remaining cheddar cheese and put back into oven for 5 minutes or until cheese is golden. Serve with tortilla chips or veggies.DH would LOVE that! I'll have to look it up!

I think this is mine - sounds really similar:
INGREDIENTS
DIRECTIONS
I have a recipe that is similar, but we call it Clemson Caviar. Mine has beans, red onion, avacodo, jalapenos, italian dressing, and.... I don't remember what else. So good!
Here's my tip of the day. This one landed me a 3rd date with DH!
When you make guac keep a pit in the bowl (or 2 if you're making a lot) and it will keep the guac from turning brown. You can/should do this for any dip that's got avacado in it. It really works, much better then adding lemon juice and those other tricks.

This is a great tip! Thanks! I LOVE guac - could eat it every day - and I hate when it turns brown.
Yup, this one really works. It'll change your life!
