Help! I don't want to over react...

I am about 15-16 weeks pregnant (for the first time).  I don't want to be the type of woman who calls their OB for every little ache and pain.  But I feel terrible!  I consider myself a tough cookie...but the headache, nausea, and muscle aches I have felt for the last 3 days have we worried.

Also, I noticed when I eat some candied pineapple I feel a little relief...could these symptoms be sugar related???

  • I would call your OB for peace of mind.  I called mine a few times throughout my pregnancy and they always called back and were very friendly.  I'm sure they get all kinds of questions.

  • I had really bad migraines around 15 weeks too. i just drank a lot of water.  where are your muscle aches? that would cause me to call my ob i think.   call you ob that is what they are there for.
  • Sorry that you aren't feeling well.  Sometimes pineapple helped with my nausea as well (though fresh, I never tried candied).  But I spent the first 18 or so weeks feeling terrible, so if your doctor tells you it's all "normal", you aren't alone.

  • It might not hurt to give your doc a call, especially if the muscle aches are relatively new. You could actually be sick (like, flu or cold sick) on top of the pregnancy symptoms.

  • I would call your Doctor just to be sure. Always a good idea. But also make sure you are drinking enough water. Muscle aches and headaches are common side effects of dehydration. Don't know how that would relate to candied pineapple though!
