DIY vinyl wall art?

Any do this?  DS is getting his big boy bedroom and it is a monkey theme (Bobby Jack Going Dotty).  I am doing the blue on 3 walls, the green on one and then doing a big brown stripe around the room.  We have these leaves that we are going to put up in the corner to make a little reading/play nook for him.  In other words we are going all out on his big boy room (to compensate for moving when he was 6 months and just slapping together a nursery).

I want to do something cute with vinyl wall art... either in place of the brown stripe or with the brown stripe.  I looked on etsy and found a few cute ones to give me ideas.  I have a cricut and would like to use it.  Anyone done this before or have other suggestion for wall graphics DIY?

Re: DIY vinyl wall art?

  • Maybe monkey vinyls?  And polka dots?  It'd totally match the bedding, but would still work if you got plain bedding with the same colors.

I'd keep the brown stripe and just work around it.

  • I have found websites that say you could use shelf paper or to use industrial grade vinyl. However I have yet to find any good colors for shelf paper and have not found a place that sells the vinyl even online. I am looking to make birch trees the ones I saw online cost $119.= shipping! I think I can do better. Let me know if you find anything. As of right now I am looking into body shops that make window decals or a graphic art dept. ~good luck!
