Re: why are people so eager to be done w/ pregnancy?

  • I'm eager to be done because personally, I don't like being pregnant!  What's so wrong about that?

  • Hah, yeah.   When I had my scare at 34 wks I was praying that the baby would stay in me for a few more weeks.  I couldn't believe the women who were no farther along, talking about how they want to have their babies now.  I was terrified that I was going to be visiting my baby at the NICU for weeks and that he would have problems from being born too early.

Now that I made it past 37 wks (my doctor's goal) I am a bit more impatient to meet my son, but I know he will keep cooking til he is ready to be born.  In the mean time I am enjoying my last lazy days at home.  We got everything ready to go when I got out of the hospital weeks ago, so I have a lot of down time these days which is nice!

  • I think the point is that we need to grow up and quit whining about popping out a baby early just because we are tired and sore.  There are some women who are doing everything in their power to keep their baby in, and would love to switch spots with any of us.  These ladies do not broadcast their PTL, or general pregnancy woes. They are more worried about their LO's than themselves.

Be excited to have your baby with you, but seriously be glad that you can make it full term and not have to have a preemie baby who is not fully developed.

  • because some of us are sick of being tired and uncomfortable!  while I want my baby to cook for atleast 37 weeks, I cannot wait for that time to come around!!!

I HATE being pregnant!!  Some ppl like it and other dont.

    Because...being pregnant sucks?

This.  Just because we want to be done does not mean we are hoping for a preemie.  There is no harm in complaining and wanting to be done, it's not like we can will our LO's out of us!

I agree - I don't think anyone is actually wishing their baby would be premature and have health problems.  We just want the time to go by a little quicker.

  • Shoot, my mom tells me I was 2 weeks late.  I'm mentally preparing if Jake decides to be late.

It's only 35 weeks right now. I will give him time- pregnancy has a billion downs to it but I get a healthy boy in the end!

  • Everytime I feel myself getting antsy and "hating" pregnancy, I just remember back to when I would have stood on my head with an Instead Cup inserted after sex for 24 if it meant a BFP and how I would cry each month when AF would show up.  That's just what keeps me sane.....
  • People always complain.. complain that they can't get preg, complain that they want their bump already, and then complain they want it all over with.

    This. Exactly.

I had complication after complication in my last pregnancy and was told at 20 weeks, "we're going to try to get you to 28 weeks before we deliver your baby." After witnessing a friend and her husband deal with a premature birth at 28 weeks, I was terrified. By some miracle, and with multiple visits with specialists for her and for me, my daughter and I both managed to stay healthy enough for her to stay in until 37 weeks.

This pregnancy has been completely different, and 30 weeks, we have zero complications. Even the minor things that a lot of pregnant women gripe about - sciatica, heartburn, swollen feet/ankles, baby banging on your bladder/cervix - are no big deal to me because of what we went through with our daughter. We are so blessed to be pregnant again, and pregnant with a healthy mama and healthy baby. If this little guy wants to hang out a week or two past his due date, that is perfectly fine with me.

  • I am 33 weeks and ready to be done being pregnant, but I fully understand and know that baby needs to stay in there and cook longer and isn't ready to come out yet.  My back hurts, my feet are swollen, I can't get comfortable to sleep.  Yeah, I'm ready to be done with that and move on to being a mom.  But I'll wait 7 more weeks to do it.
  • not everyone has an easy pregnancy. For instance GD you cant eat like a normal preg. person?plus u worry about baby & hope you are controlling your sugars so your baby is not the size of a cow. ?also the constant back issues are not so?pleasurable.

Why are you so eager to stick around and post on this board?

Last I checked, you had a 3 year old and a 6 month old and were not pregnant.

I like most of the ladies on this board.

    MOST.

    Jen FTW.

Hey Jen, just remember that these ladies are complaining about being done now but they are surrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre gonna miss these easy days in a few weeks.

    bwwahhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?

You took the words right out of my mouth.  I had a horrible pregnancy.  Severe hyperemesis had me on bed rest for 5 months, a PICC line (IV that goes into your heart) for nourishment because I couldn't keep anything down, countless medications, carpal tunnel, high blood pressure, etc. to the point that I lost 40 lbs.  Even with all the meds I was still throwing up over 20 times a day.  Needless to say I was beyond miserable.

Then I delivered a preemie at 34 weeks 1 day.  Trust me ladies, spending weeks on end in the NICU is way worse than a horrific uncomfortable pregnancy.  I would have given anything to be puking again.

  • gee, maybe because not all of us are having a "no symptom, I love being pregnant, that's why I want to be mrs. duggar" pregnancy! How stupid is this..everyone's different and some people like myself are itching to see their little one and end the constant crotch pain and heartburn. We want healthy babies, but want the misery to end too! Sorry, not a good night for me to read a stupid topic! Tongue Tied
