My question is how long does it take for the pill to be out of your system? How soon will you be able to tell if you're pregnant? Would I have to wait until its closer until my period to take a pregnancy test? I had just quit taking the birth control pill 4 days ago and have been trying ever since because it's ovulation time.
Re: Please help!!
well if you just quit bcp 4 days ago you can't really be "trying" right now. You would need to wait about 14 days or so until you ovulate to actually have intercourse that could result in a bfp. Ideally you will not want to test until within a day or so of your next period.
This is however if everything falls into place perfectly - very very few woman are able to get a bfp the first month off of bcp - your body is still adjusting and the hormones may not be completely out of your system.
Also i may have read that wrong but did you just decide to stop taking bcp in the middle of a cycle? because if you stopped four days ago but are ovulating. that would mean for this cycle you had already been on it for about 2 weeks.
I would say for health reasons this would NOT be a good month to try getting pregnant with so much of the hormone still in your body.
It all depends on where in your cycle you are - how long ago your last period was. You generally don't ovulate until about 14days after - although this really is different for everyone which is why charting and ovulation predictor kits can help.
Then after you ovulate you will want to wait another 14 days to actual test for a positive.
Hope that made sense it is the very simple version - there is so much that can differ from person to person.
This. I didn't chart but was pregnant after first cycle off BCP. I had a friend who went off BCP and was pregnant before having a period, but I remember my doctor saying to wait a month.
