Think it's still OK as long as my harness still fits? I only top rope, and pretty much only in the gym these days. I'm a bit reluctant to ask my doctor because, unless she's actually familiar with rock climbing, I think she might just assume it's too dangerous and tell me not to. Any advice?
Re: Anyone pregnant and rock climbing?
Thanks, auslyn, good point! WAY bigger risk of falling when skiing than when climbing.
LOL! Sorry, Erin. I definitely have a lot LESS energy, but I'm still dragging myself onto the wall. It's really the only weight/resistance style workout that I can get myself to do, so I don't want to lose it (yet, anyway). DH and I haven't told anyone we're PG yet, so I'm having to make excuses to my climbing partner as to why I'm so slow! I definitely don't have the stamina, but when someone's counting on me to show up, I'm still dragging myself there! I hope you feel better soon!!!
The title of this post made me laugh! I rock climbed once, and I wouldn't do it even if I wasn't pregnant and you paid me! LOL
To each her own... I would imagine that if you're harnessed in, have the energy, and it is something you have done previously and your body is used to it, it wouldn't be an issue. Have fun!

It's fine. Once you have a belly, you can get a body harness that will accomodate it (some gyms will have some you can borrow).
I only climbed with people I wa super-comfortable with as partners when I was pregnant as well.
