How did you do it?Did your baby take to the formula quickly? I have to switch over and I'm planning to do it gradually (over a month), but any tips would be greatly appreciated!

We did it somewhat gradually - I just stopped pumping during the day and using my freezer stash. At first I combined the formula with BM but she seemed to do better with all or nothing. So we kind of alternated BM and formula. She did totally fine and pretty much barely even noticed the difference. But, she's always been a really easy eater.
I mixed it for a while and when she had to go to daycare started giving her straight formula. I'm still nursing when I can, if the well is dry she gets a bottle.
We did it gradually as well. We introduced formula when he was about 7 mos old. We started with 1/2 an oz of formula per bottle of bm for a couple of weeks and increased the ounces steadily to now he is completely FF. we didnt do it any faster b/c honestly , I didnt want to stop bf-ing...but i couldnt pump at work and ds, once he hit 7 mos, would not stay on the breast longer than like a minute..too distracted. the only problem we had was we werent aware he had a milk allergy until we tried the formula and he broke out in a rash. He is on soy right now and tolerating it wonderfully!
When I did it with DS#1 we started by only nursing at night and first thing in the morning - the rest of the feedings I pumped milk and gave it in bottles. After a few weeks of that I cut out the morning nursing session and started giving some formula through the day (I think it was half and half at first). Eventually I cut out the nighttime nursing session and did straight formula.
Re: XP: If you've transitioned form BF to formula...
