i am afraid to give my son table food, for some reason. he eats stage 2 baby foods and sometimes he will have puffs, but i'm scared to give him little bits of what we are having for dinner.
It just depends what it is. We usually will not give him what we have for dinner bc I feel the stuff we eat is too spicy for him. If we make pasta of some kind I'll give him the noodles plain.

We have given her some table food, but just really soft stuff because she still has no teeth. I've given her shreds of chicken, spaghetti noodles, rice, avocado, bread, and potatoes. If I have something on my plate that isn't spicy or overly seasoned, I'll try to give her some. We didn't start this until a couple weeks ago, after she was 8 months old. I'm still doing mostly purees and puffs.
Still mainly purees and she only sometimes eats those. We just this weekend got her to eat some puffs and she does love to chew but not swallow the mum mums. She jsut has no desire to put food in her mouth, toys and everything else straight to her mouth, food she holds and stares at.
The only table food my 9 month old does is puffs and an occasional cracker. He is just not interested in other food, except to play with. I am going to try again this weekend.

Re: does anyone NOT give her 8 month old table food?
I was so scared with #1 as well. I was afraid of allergies, though we have a ton and C has feeding issues.
Why are you scared?
It is so freeing not having to feed them and letting them feed themselves! We all enjoy dinner together!

No teeth required. Molars are what are used for chewing and we do not get those until 18m-2years.
I promise you, your 8m old can handle a grilled cheese.
DD is on almost all table foods adn feeds herself (except yogurt/applesauce, etc.) She loooves it and its so much easier for me.
I only give him soft, steamed stuff, or dried fruit - etc. Things he can mash in his mouth.
I gave him apples once, he stuffed them in his mouth and choked. So now its just soft stuff.
I don't know! I guess I'm scared he might choke or be allergic. I am just a nervous nellie.
