My 11 month old DD goes to sleep with a larger bottle around 7:30pm..she goes down fine, but wakes again around 2,3 or 4am and just wants to be held. This has gone on since mid-June and HAS to stop, as she is waking her older sister & I am due October 1st with our son...we will be up enough!
We have tried feeding her when she wakes, her mobile music, calming video and plenty of car rides...they do get her back to sleep, but we need to break this habit!
We have tried to let her cry it out, but after 45 minutes, we are at our wit's end, and we go get her...she falls back to sleep within 10 minutes after that.
What worked for you? Thanks!
Re: HELP! 11mo not sleeping thru night & I'm due in 1 month!
omg, due in a month with an 11 month old?!?!?!?!?
i can't get past that!
This.
Honestly? at that age probably straight CIO. If you cave in she just learns to keep crying for 45 minutes to get you to come in. It sucks but they learn how to self-soothe pretty quickly. I'd introduce a lovey or transitional object to help her soothe herself- something that smells like you. wear inside your shirt and sleep with it so it'll get your scent on it. Try reading Ferber or Healthy sleep habits, healthy child. GL!!
I am not sure I can offer much advice but I will keep positive thoughts going for you. I was wondering if maybe you spend a few extra quiet minutes before bed with her if that would help. Maybe read a book say your prayers and cuddle a bit. Maybe she is wanting attention. I hope that isn't coming off the wrong way but hopefully that will help her feel more secure and want to comfort herself when she does wake. When your new LO comes this may get worse again because her day time attention with you will be lacking for obvious reasons so that extra time may be even more crutial (sp? sorry)
