Duggard baby #19
Not to be judgemental but come on already! Do all the kids really get enough attention to feel like individuals?
Is there something wrong w/ me b/c I feel overwhelmed w/ just one child? I cannot imagine being pregnant right now while carrying around a 20-lb baby.

I just saw that they were on the Today show announcing this. IMO, this is NOT NEWSWORTHY! I don't give a flying f*ck about the fact that they are dumb enough to keep procreating.
Nobody should have that many kids. I know I'm being totally judgmental, but there is just no good reason to have that many children. The world in not underpopulated. We have plenty of people for humanity to keep moving forward. Just stop already!
ditto. The today show has completely gone downhill. And, I am tired of the Duggars, Octo-mom and Jon and Kate.
this kind of stuff makes me so mad because there are plenty of women, myself included, who would love to have a baby and can't/haven't been able to yet.... and this woman is popping out #19.
i at least have to say, after watching their show they seem a lot more down to earth and normal than i expected. and certainly haven't sold out like jon and kate or octomom did....
{HUGS} I know...it sucks.
But back to the topic, I haven't watched the show but how are the kids affected, really? Do they actually be kids or once they get to a point it's like you become a cog in the Duggar wheel? Just like the others I just feel bad for the kids.
I don't follow this family much, but I've heard of them. Why not have 19 if you are healthy and can support them? I don't know - I guess I think more power to them - or am I missing something?
My friend's mom is one of 15. Fif-freaking-teen. His grandma has passed away, but if she were alive I'd shake that woman's hand.
Part of my "issue" (for lack of a better term) is the whole Quiverfull movement.
I do think she's crazy to have 19 kids (heck, we are "one and done" as I like to say), but they are not asking for handouts, they support themselves on their own (and yes they get stuff from TLC now but even before becoming famous, they were debt free) and the kids are all well taken care, well mannered and innocent which is much more than I can say for many children in this country. They manage their money well and have been able to provide them an enriching life (even if it is a more conservative way of life, it's not like they are in a cult).
My husband works for the show and they came into the studio a few weeks ago and he said they are some of the nicest people he ever met. So well behaved. Yes, they are religious, homeschooled and very conservative which is not my cup of tea, but they have raised those kids to be some of the most upstanding people when compared to the rest of this F'd up country. Michelle is kind, loving and pays attention to her kids and gives the nothing but her love and patience and understanding.
Sure, with that many kids, it's hard to say they get enough attention but they don't feel neglected or sad about having all those siblings. My husband said they are genuinely happy, good people. I do think Jim Bob is a little creepy in a nerdy way but like I said they are good parents raising good people and while I would never home school or follow some of their other beliefs, they've done something right because not one of them is on drugs, out of control or having sex before marriage.
The children genuinely respect their parents and love them and many of them want big families as well so they are doing something right.
Just my $2 cents.
