Aww, I love lizards. I always ASSumed they were all over the country until one day we were outside waiting to eat at a local restaurant, and one of the people waiting by us totally freaked out when a lizard climbed the fence near their table. They were from Chicago, I believe, and said they'd never seen a lizard IRL before. I was like, "Huh, what?"
They're everywhere down here (Louisiana). I always rescue them from certain death in my house with my viscious cats and hyper-ass dog.
Oh, gross. I wish you lived on the south side, I'd come over with my killer cat and we'd have the situation taken care of in 10 minutes. Seriously. He hauls dead bunnies out of the woods and leaves piles of lizards on our doorstep. :::puke:::
We had one in our house last year, I took a broom after it and got it out. It was just in the foyer though. Not sure what to say about yours. Maybe call a pest control company and see what they say?
Loan me your cat! I'll make you brownies! Apparently they might have salmonella now, but what kind of pregnant woman turns down brownies?
Seriously you guys, every time I think I see movement out of the corner of my eye I go into a momentary full on panic. There is something wrong with me. Thank goodness the lizard has only been sighted downstairs and the bedrooms are upstairs or we might have a real problem on our hands.
I will loan you my cat for some brownies!!
Seriously, we have alot of them outside, and I have occasionally seen one or two in the house, but they have never actually gotten ON me. They eat other insects in your house. Better a little lizard than a bunch of mosquitos IMO. They are more scared of you than you are of them.
::::giggles:::: It's just a lizard for crying out loud. Kindly put him in a shoe box and take him outside. Don't kill it. He is doing no harm (but scaring the crap out of you apparently).
LOL - we have lizards everywhere 'round these parts. Sometimes they get in the house. The cat eats them if she can, which makes me sad, but I get why you don't want them in the house. Don't hurt him - they're harmless.
I'm really late to this post, but as a Floridian, I have some experience in the area. The first time we had a lizard in the house, my reaction was the same as yours. DH tells me that it's good luck to have a lizard in your house. I honestly don't know whatever happened to that lizard.
The next time was my cat's fault. She sits on the lanai all day, and I heard her make a really awful noise. I went out to see what the problem was and she had a lizard IN HER MOUTH. Not the first time she's caught a lizard. Sometimes I can save them, sometimes I can't. This time, I grabbed her tried to get her to drop the lizard, and she did. IN the house, of course. He was still alive, the poor little guy. Lucky for me, the shock of being in a cat's mouth slowed him down and I caught him with tupperware and a piece of paper and back outside he went.
If it makes you feel any better, I can handle the lizards, but I was not fond of the frog I found in my toilet.
Re: omfg there is a LIZARD in my HOUSE
you are enjoying this entirely too much

Roaches, on the other hand, will make me faint.
