i guess she doesn't like pull-ups

she doesn't usually mess with her diapers but now that we've got her in pull-ups, she's constantly trying to take it off or sticking her hand down the back of it. i'm guessing it's not comfortable? i wonder if she just needs to get used to it or if we should try something else. we haven't potty-trained yet but she'll tell us once or twice a day when she needs to go and will use the potty then, which is why we switched the pull-up. but we're not ready for panties or anything like that. and she's never pooped in the potty, just pee.

 any advice appreciated!

Re: i guess she doesn't like pull-ups

  • Honestly - I would stay w/ the regular diapers.  The pull ups are so absorbent - it's not like she gets the feeling of being wet from them.  And they are expensive.  They are a little easier for PT, but honestly we virtually stopped using them w/ DD b/c it didn't help her learn and I didn't really want to pay from them.  If she had on a diaper and said she needed to pee, we'd just take it off and put her on the potty.  And poo was the very last thing for DD to accomplish before being PT.

  • Personally, I'm going to try to avoid pull-ups. They tend to confuse the potty training issue from what my more experienced mommy friends say. Plus, they're so danged expensive! Unless you're serious about transitioning to the potty, just stick with diapers. If you are serious, then GOOD that they're uncomfortable! Explain to her that panties are soooo much nicer and let her feel the difference ;)

  • Pull ups are diapers. Go cold turkey in panties for 10 days and see what happens, she may surprise you! ;)
