Baby screaming in sleep

DD will scream and sometimes SCREAM in her sleep, then go right back to a peaceful slumber.

Also, she has frequently begun screaming when she wakes up instead of the peaceful waking up she sometimes does.  (Guess which one I prefer?)  ;)  She's not too hot, too cold, wet/poopy, gassy, hungry or anything else that I can figure out.

Sometimes I can calm her back to sleep (because she's really still tired) and sometimes I can't.  I'm worried that it's affecting her sleep and that she's becoming sleep deprived.

Anyone else's baby do this?  Any suggestions?

  • DS does this too.  In fact, it just happened right now.  No idea what causes it, but it's soooo random and it kinda freaks me out.

  • DS was doing this pretty regularly within the past couple of weeks.  Not sure why though. Sometimes he even has tears in his eyes when I go to pick him up, it's terrible.  I feel so bad for him.  I thought it could be gas or teething or nightmares but not sure.

I KNOW!!!  Tiny baby tears are the worst!  They and the screaming tear me apart.  My DH isn't affected as badly, which sucks, because he's gone during the day and she mostly screams with her naps.

  • DD does that too but we feel like it's gas related.  She is usually very fidgety with her legs when she does it.
