Grrrr. MIL (not what you think)

So my MIL drives me bonkers. She is nice, spoils my kid (and me) but we just have nothing in common and she has foot-in-mouth disease.

However, it is really hard to stay mad/annoyed at her when her and FIL send us a card that reads something like this:

"We just wanted to let you know, one year later, we are so proud of you for being amazing parents. From the beginning you were wonderful and you have just become the best parents ever to that little girl.

We are so proud of both of you."

*tear*

My parents would never dream of writing a note like this.

wow, that is so thoughtful, definitely not something i'd expect from my IL's, my sister is that kind of person, but those kinds of people are rare

My MIL wrote me a similar card after we told them I was pregnant. They were taken aback at first so the reaction wasn't quite what we expected. My MIL wrote me a really sweet card the next week and I still have it somewhere.?
