Did anyone else go to the Circuit City Mom 2 Mom yesterday? I have to say I had high hopes and was pretty disappointed. The majoirty of the sales Ive been to the clothes and toys were in good condition, but a lot of the clothes and toys I saw yesterday were stained and pretty ratty looking
I picked up a carseat at one point because my mom wants one for her car and a sea of huge bugs came crawling out from underneath the fabric! I thought I was going to die. Ugh!
Re: Circuit City Mom 2 Mom
ewwwww. That is so gross. I wanted to go but we were suppossed to go to cleveland this weekend to celebrate our anniversary but my back has started to really bother me so I didn't want to be in the car that long. So I had forgot about the mom 2 mom sale.
Were there lots of books there? That is the only thing we really need that I was hoping to save some money one.
No I didn't go but I thought it was illegal to sell used car seats. I heard you can be fined up to $500 if caught selling them.
That is gross to find bugs in the seat. They probably kept it in the garage. Luckily you can wash the fabric and spray down the seat.
J&R- Thats what we were looking for too... is books and a few other things for my moms house. You didnt miss anything though, there werent too many books that I found worth buying. The majority of them were in pretty rough condition.
McLovin- Hmmm.... I have no idea if its illegal to sell them or not. It would make sense though because a lot of people probably dont know that car seats expire! Ill admit I did end up purchasing a carseat from a lady there and it was in really good condition. Only 1 year old and I took off the fabric while I was there and inspected the plastic and everything. It was very well taken care of. I just couldnt believe that someone would try to sell something for $40 nonetheless and not even look to make sure it was clean. YUCK!
Thanks for posting, I'm glad I missed it.
As far as car seats go, you shouldn't buy from someone you don't know because you don't know if they were in an accident or not. They should be replaced if the car is ever in an accident and I bet a lot of people don't. It's a safety issue. I just searched and couldn't find anything saying that it's illegal to sell a used car seat in MI but they do expire.
I went to it and I didn't think it was that bad. I wasn't that impressed with their big items, but I found a lot of cute stuff at the tables! My mom, sister, and I were 3rd in line, though, so when we got in there it was empty and easy to move around.
