Birth Story

Hi Girls,

 I didn't think I'd post a birth story but this board has been so great since I was diagnosed with GD I thought I'd post just to this board. I always liked to hear how other GD moms' deliveries went... So hear it goes! I had my first internal on Tuesday and was only 2cm and 0% effaced (no big deal still only 38 weeks). Tuesday night DH and I went for a walk after dinner as always to help my numbers... well at 10:00 my water broke. I hadn't been having contractions or anything so we werein shock. We went to the hospital and I labored for 3 hrs before they started pitocin and epidural. Once the pitocin started to kick in things moved pretty quick. I pushed for about 25 minutes and he was out! He is perfect... I was so worried about all the usual GD things, lung development, hypoglicemia, huge baby, etc. but he is great. He was 7lbs 5 oz and all his sugars have come back great. His first Billy Rubin (sp?) tested said no jaundice yet but we'll see.... Well that's it! Hope you guys all have great labors and remember the diet is tough but after it you have a beautiful baby and you can enjoy eating all the foods you missed out on for a couple of days without worrying.
