   I vote science. Because you need to put in the research to understand #1 what works for your type of diapers. #2 have an understanding of your type of washing machine and your local water type. #3 understand the chemcials in laundry detergents.  Then there's the fun chemistry reactions like Vinegar and oxyclean.
