Re: Failed one hour, numbers REALLY high?!
Yeah, I don't think there's much correlation between the 1 hr and the 3 hr numbers. At least not in my case. I was 145 for the 1 hr and failed all four draws of the 3 hour.
Good luck.
At least at our clinic, if your 1hr is over 180 they don't bother with the 3 hr, its an automatic diagnosis.
That being said, my 1hr was 212.... I figure at least I saved myself 3 hrs of sitting in the lab

mine was 190something so they didn't even do the 3 hour test, just put me on dietary restrictions and glucose testing.
good luck!
With DD1, I failed the 1hr with a 183 and passed the 3hr with flying colors.
With DD2, I failed the 1hr by 5 points....and failed the 3hr and had to prick my finger 3x a day just to get a normal reading every single damn time with no diet change and no medication.
With DD3, they wanted me to take the 3hr at 12wks. I flat out refused because I get violently ill from it. I agreed to test 2x a day - 1 fasting and 1 after eating. Always normal. OB said I should do the 1hr because, if I passed, I could stop testing. Took it and kept testing. One day, I felt REALLY sick and tested and it was over 200. I called and they had me come in - just to tell me I passed the 1hr, but, because of that high reading, I had to take the 3hr. I said I'd just keep testing, but they said no, I had to take the 3hr because 200 is bad and they need to know if I need medication. Since I get so sick, I had to do it at L&D and I tested myself every hour just for fun and to see if my meter was reading correctly. It was and I passed.
