We haven't always had a great relationship with the ILs but we've all put the past behind us. The kids are so close to them. They spend the night there all the time and FIL and Ethan go golfing once a week. We live about 5 minutes apart and go to their house every Sunday for dinner.
Anyway, FIL started a business and it's just not working out. He's most likely getting a job offer in Houston next week. He just can't find a job here. I can't imagine my kids not living close to their grandparents. I know a lot of people are in that situation, but it still makes me sad. The kids are going to have a hard time adjusting to them not being around all the time.
Re: I'm super bummed
I would have a hard time with that too. I consider us lucky to live so near to all our family (IL's, my parents, cousins, aunts, uncles-the whole sha-bang) and would not want it any other way.
We live about 5 hours from my parents. DD says at least every other day, 'I need to see my Gramma'. It is heartbreaking
being in that situation ( both sides of the family) SUCKS!
I am sorry!
I really think every single day about what we need to do to move back east. It just seems so wrong to have my parents so far away (il's too..but it bums me out less)
I need her to know my people!
I hope something comes through for him on a more local level..or you guys are renting, rght? Maybe Houston is for you!
you could all migrate!
