speaking of weight loss

it's interesting to read the 'cop out' post b/c as of this morning, I am ready to do that surgery.

I gained 80lbs with Sam and went up to a size 24. I worked my ass off and now I'm down to a 16. I did a tri sprint, I'm doing another, I diet, and I work out a lot.

I had 15lbs to go to get back to a size 14 (happy at that size). and I've gained SIX pounds back. for no freaking reason that I can see. if someone tells me I have to "shock" my system one more time, I'm going to throttle them. if someone tells me "well, maybe you are eating too little", I may lose my fricking mind.

I know, it's only six pounds but when you have fifteen more to go and you try very very hard, work out a lot, diet, and the scale goes in the opposite direction??? I feel like crying about it.

I don't qualify for surgery for this is for the birds.

  • Don't give up! Just for a little perspective, I JUST got down to a size 24 and was so excited I did a little dance in the dressing room in my size 24 pants. I would feel like at super model at a size 14.

  • I feel you. I have been trying to lose 20 lbs for ever now. I blame the insulin resistance.

I would be ecstatic if were a perfect 10

  • Thanks Elise. It's hard, isn't it? I guess we just have to keep encouraging ourselves that every little bit counts (and congrats on your weight loss).
  • vccake - I've been there. It was 5 years ago, and I was 20 lbs. from my goal weight and then got married, had kids and now I'm starting all over again.

It sucks when that stuff starts to happen. When I hit my biggest plateau I started running hill intervals 3x week and doing pilates. It worked - I started losing again.

    GOOD LUCK!

Yeah, if you have PCOS, it's probably insulin resistance. That's one of my problems. Have you tried a lower carb diet, like South Beach? Reducing carbs can help with insulin resistance.

It's so hard to give up the carbs. I could seriously live off of pasta.

Yeah, I know. Have you tried one of the lower glycemic pastas? I like Dreamfields. It tastes just like regular pasta, but has fewer effective carbs. I really notice the difference in how it affects my blood sugar as opposed to regular pasta.
