Re: natural vs d&c
1st of all I am so so sorry for your loss.
I had a natural miscarriage yesterday ( or in the middle of the night I shall say). It was quite painful and might not of been so bad with pain meds. An I was also glad that I was at home when it happened. I am actually glad that my body took care of it, I was very nervous to have a D&C. I guess its up to you, some naturals can take a long time I have heard. A D&C might bring you closure quickly. Good luck
Im still waiting for my HCG levels to drop..I had a natural m/c two weeks ago...light to normal period bleeding for 6 days and HCG was dropping great but now seems to be going slow..im hoping I dont need to have a D&C done...HCG went from 948 to 560 in 4 days then a week later only dropped to 368...
If you can I would try to wait it out some..but if you become ill or just not feeling "right" and your levels arent dropping much at all then if it was me I would have the D&C to have it over with asap...
I just want it to be over with so we can move on and start trying again..
I am so sorry for your loss..hope things work out for you.
I'm so so sorry you're having to make this decision
I had a d&c on 7/2. I made that choice because I was feeling so out of control and didn't just want to sit and wait for an unknown amount of time to m/c. I just wanted it over with. I think it also helped with my emotional healing to know what was happening. My d&c was physically very easy, and I'm 'happy' with the decision I made.
I hope you find a solution you're comfortable with.
@ezbakejess Exactly the same for me. Didn't want to wait for my body to figure out something it should have 2 weeks earlier and need to have control of something.

My doctor gave me the option to miscarry naturally or to have a d&c. I decide to have the d&c because I really just didn't think I could handle waiting to have the miscarriage naturally. I was 10w and they think I lost the baby around 6w, so for me the d&c just gave me some comfort in knowing it would be over soon.
I am really sorry for your loss.
This, it was truly quite painless and allowed me to TTCAL sooner. Good luck with your decision, I know it's a tough one. HUGS
So sorry you're having to make this decision and for your loss! I had a D & C on 8/19 at 8w5d, and I'm so glad I did. There was no HB and it looked like the fetus had stopped growing at around 6w1d. The D & C allowed me to have some control over when and where my miscarriage would happen, and I felt as though it would have been emotionally too hard for me to wait for it to happen and to have it happen at home. The D & C physically was easy...getting the IV placed was the hardest part, and that was pretty easy. I went in at 10:30 and was home by 3:30, and the next day was able to go to a movie and lunch. It's a very personal decision and the same one's not right for everyone, but this was definitely right for DH and me. Good luck....thinking of you!

I'm sorry for your loss Scooter.
I never m/c on my own. I waited a weeks after my last u/s and then opted for the D&C. I couldn't sit there and wait anymore. Especially since I wasn't feeling good, I was crampy all the time, but it never produced anything.
The healing time from my D&C was fast, I only had a few days of bleeding and the heavist was before I left the surgical center.
Best of luck to you, and if you have any q's feel free to message me.
When I first found out at the doctor's office I chose to have a natural miscarriage. Then I went home, researched it and thought about it more. My DH and I decided it would be easier on me to do the d&c than wait for it to happen. I just didn't think I could handle it emotionally having to wait. The d&c wasn't too bad. The doctors and nurses were great, which really helped. I have had very little spotting and bleeding. The day of was when I had the most. But now just a little each day, but no heavy cramping at all. I think it's a personal decision that you have to make yourself, but researching and knowing more about both options helped me make my decision.
