Ok... LMP was July 15th.. According to that, my due date should be around April 21st.. Took a pregnancy test last week, positive. Had levels checked twice.. First was at 61 second was at 396.. My doctor seems to think (according to the levels) I am only around 2-3 weeks pregnant. She won't see me until Sept. 28th (in her mind, I will be 7 weeks along). In reality, That would make me about 11 weeks. (that is, 11 weeks PAST LMP).. Could I be 4 weeks off on my due date? I took several tests last week and they were all positive. I doubt that I could have only been 1-2 weeks pregnant and get a positive result on a hpt... Do you think she going according to how many weeks old my embryo/fetus is? please help me understand
Re: Thoroughly confused on my due date- PLEASE explain...
I don't know how your doctor could possibly think you are 2 weeks pregnant - you ovulate and conceive at the 2 week mark and can't even get a postive pregnancy test until at least 3.5 weeks. On some websites I have seen where they date the pregnancy from the time of conception so when it says 2 weeks, its really 4 weeks in normal pregnancy "speak". I would be surprised if a doctor would date a pregnancy that way though. I would call and ask to go through this with the doctor or nurse again because someone is seriously confused. It's not uncommon to have a first appt at like 10 weeks or so, but you should at least confirm that they realize you will in fact be that far along.
Yes, it would put you at 11 weeks since your last period, but that is obviously not when you got pregnant. ?If your levels are that low, than the most pregnant you can be would be 2-3 weeks. ?I would be extremely nervous if you thought you were further along and your level was under 1000. ?
?Just as an example.......My LMP was July 5. ?I did not conceive until the last week of July and got my first positive pregnancy test only 2 weeks after conception (yes, it is possible, EPT Certainty Digital is extremely accurate!) ?I know this for a fact because I did not start trying until that week, and it would be impossible for me to be any more pregnant than I am right now. ?When I went for my dating u/s today, I told them that they should not use my LMP date since I knew exactly when I got pregnant. ??
Also, using the LMP assumes that someone ovulates on day 14 and had a perfect 28 day cycle. ?I happen to know that I did not ovulate until day 21 and have a cycle that ranges in length from 32-40 days. ?So, this can be another reason why you think you are further along than you actually are.?
