I signed up for the Metro Mom's Stroller Skate event and one of my friends was supposed to join me. I just found out that she never signed up and made other plans!
Just wondering if I'll know anyone there or if Katelin and I will be rolling all by ourselves
Re: Anyone going to Stroller Skate Friday?
Rollerstaking with your LO in a stroller! The Thunderbird (roller rink) in Plano does it every Thursday morning but that is one of my work that days so I've never been able to go.

Since this one was on a Friday (my day off), I figured I'd give it a shot.. fingers crossed for a Quinny (that I can sell and pick up a double stroller or a sit and stand???)

Wait..hold up... I don't think I knew you're PG! Congratulations!!!
Oh, yes, sell it. I got $150 for the one I won
Thanks.. I probably shouldn't go skating (I'm such a clutz anyways and I haven't skated for years), but I figure I'll have the stroller to hang onto for dear life! I signed up before I knew I was PG and the thought of winning a nice expensive prize... my cheap self can't backout now
Meh..you'll be fine :P Just don't tell the gals on 1st Tri.
That looks like so much fun!! I'm totally doing that after the baby comes : )
OMG!! I've never heard of this and I TOTALLY want to do it!! I'm gonna look at it closer tomorrow, but I can probably make it. looks like fun! I'll page or pm you tomorrow!
might have to dust off the ol rollerblades (hopefully those things don't rust)
I just checked my e-mail and had a message about this...
The Skate-Off
The event includes a "Skate-Off" race to win one of 5 Quinny Zapp strollers. Moms choosing to participate in the Skate-Off will draw colors and heat numbers at check-in. The Skate-Off is a race on roller skates/blades, while pushing one of the Quinny Zapp strollers featured at the event (not your own stroller). There will be plenty of "warm up" free skating time prior to the Skate Off. No children are allowed in the Quinny Zapps during the race. Each heat will last no more than 2 minutes. Because the Quinny Zapps will be awarded as prizes as opposed to simply being raffled off, all moms who race are eligible to win a Zapp.
Please be careful! You know it could get brutal out there and we don't want you to hurt the special package! haha but I do hope you win!
Depending on the type of skates you have, you may want to check the bearings to make sure they still roll, and also check your lining closely for any little friends (mice, etc.) who may have chosen to make their home in them.
Please please PLEASE be careful during this "race". Indoor floors are slick on inline skates and roller skates, and hitting the wall is no fun.
