DS does not like to go to bed anymore!!!

The past three nights have been he!! getting LO down to bed.  He screams bloody murder when I put him down.  Then I try to go in to console him and he screams until I pick him up.  He does this for about 30 minutes (DH and I switch off going in) and then he finally falls asleep for good (fortunately once he's asleep he's still STTN).

What, if anything, can I do to help him go to bed?  Or is this just the way it is?

    Yes, we have a routine.  I get home around 7 PM, bathe him, we hang out and read a book or two and play, then I feed him and put him down around 8PM.  Not sure what's going on.  I'll try turning his nightlight off tonight... Or maybe I need to make sure he's getting enough food (I usually have plenty of milk).
