Parenting after a Loss

The pump is officially put away!

Wow, after a year, the day has come!!  So nice to officially put it away with no plans to pull it back out until the next kid.

So damn excited to not have to worry about pumping!!

The feeling is officially bittersweet, and it's a change to be slowly weaning from BFing, but overall, I'm excited about this new phase.  It's been a great almost-year.

  • Congrats on making it this long!  I have had thoughts of being done with pumping someday, it will be weird to not have to lug that all to work every day.

  • that is so amazing for you to make this far especially working full time! You have a lot to be proud of! =0
  • I'm so excited to experience not lugging it around with me.  I will no longer be the "bag lady" every day at work!

  • Congratulations and I admire you for all the hard work. Let me know how the weaning goes. And it was great to see you this past weekend. :)
  • Congrats, sweetie! That is a big accomplishment.
  • Oh congrats! I'm jealous, both that you've done it so long and that you're done! For now I'm still pumping.. but I'm soo ready to be done and I know I won't make it til 11 months!

  • I just stopped last week and I STILL keep having to remind myself not to pump. I automatically think "oh I better go pumo.. oh wait...." It's quite freeing, though!
  • congrats!

it is such a nice accomplishment working FT.  it is just as nice to not worry about it anymore.

  • We must be on the same page - because Monday was my first day at work pump free too.  DD only nurses 2 times a day now - and I use my milk stash for the other 2 bottles.  I completely get the mixed emotions... one moment I am so excited to not have to pump anymore and the next I am nostalgic and miss it. Oh well - congrats on entering the "next phase"... I can't believe they are almost 1 yr!!

  • Congrats! I can't wait to be done with the pump either. I'm in the middle of trying to drop a pump and go down to 2x while at work. Definitely will be interested to hear how weaning goes for you. Good luck!
