I'm sooooo relieved!
In case you missed my birth story (buried somewhere), I had a 4th degree tear of my perineum and rectum as well as an episiotomy. So my OB had me come in today for a follow-up.
When I got to the office, the staff all assumed I'd had a c-section (because generally there aren't follow-ups so soon for a vaginal delivery). But when I said "4th degree" and 9 lb baby, they were all like ? WHOA!
Anyway, I'm healing well. Stitches itch like CRAZY! But I can drive and walk now. And since I'm not breastfeeding, I can start taking birth control pills again in 2 weeks. But I'm on pelvic rest until 8 weeks postpartum (extra 2 weeks to heal) unless I'm told otherwise in a month.
I'm pretty relieved. Next up: Aaron's 2 week ped visit on Friday.

How did your dog do with the baby coming home? Mine have been great so far. They get a little nervous when she cries, but they're adjusting well. I still give them plenty of cuddle time when the baby is asleep.
That's great that you're feeling better. Maybe it didn't register before or maybe I'm still shocked- 4th degree? Ugh woman!!
I love how Aaron is all snuggled up - so cute!!
My dog, Casey, seems to be adjusting pretty well. He's also a bit nervous around Aaron but there's no aggression. He keeps sniffing at him and looking at me with an expression like "what IS this???"
And, Peeper, yeah... I still can't believe how badly I tore. But once that first week went by I started to feel much better. I felt terrible the first 5-6 days but with the help of restful sleep (thanks to our baby nurse, Yvonne, who is only here for 2 more days) I was able to heal.
And thanks for the compliments, too. I think my boy is quite cute too. But it seems that we all had adorable babies! :-)

My cat does the same thing.

LOL - I have 2 cats, one (male) is like "whatever" but the other (female)worries me a bit though, she's hissed at LO a few times, so I keep her away from him all the time....
Robyn,
I feel for you, I am so glad you are doing better and what a quick recovery too! Although i'm sure you still have a while to go before you feel 100%, but great job woman!
