My 3 week old newborn is constipated. The pedi has said they don't feel it's necessary to change his formula yet. But we've been going on 2 weeks of constipation now. We've tried corn syrup and prune juice in his formula as well as bicycling his legs when he's bearing down. My husband and I have decided to go ahead and change his formula anyway. We feel that's the next best step for our baby. Any suggestions for formula that may help with constipation?
Re: what formula should i use for constipation
I don't know that there's a real answer to this. DS was ok on Similac Advance Early Shield, but we switched him to soy to help congestion, it made him constipated, so we switched to Good Start. He hasn't been constipated since.
But he wasn't on Similac, either. They're both fine for DS, but your LO might be different.
Similac Advanced
it is hard like you said. i hate to see him cry so much. but i know we need to have patience. it's just hard being a first time new mom. thanks for the support though.
