I just posted this on TTTC, but I meant to share with you girls. Oh, well. Maybe I should stick to one board!
So I had a phone call in to the nurse at my doctor?s office because I had blood drawn last week after my m/c to find out my blood type (shame on me, I have no clue what it is.) and to see my HGC levels. Although they already did the ultrasound and saw that I had completely m/c.
Anyway, the nurse called me to tell me that my levels where a very early pregnancy. So I had to inform her that I lost the baby, and she exclaims ?did you make an appointment?! Does he know??? Ugh, READ THE CHART before you call a patient back! Seriously.
That was almost as bad as the day after when I had the blood work done and the tech asked me ?Are you already pregnant?? And I informed her ? No, I lost my baby yesterday.? @ss
Oh, and I still don?t know my blood type. They can?t find that.
Re: Frustrating phone call
honestly, I would complain to your MD, or to the office admin. just a simple note saying that this was out of line, and upsetting to you, and you wouldn't want this to happen again to someone else just b/c they didn't read the chart first.
I'm so sorry.
I agree with pp. These people are dealing with their patient's worst nightmares, and the least they can do is be professional and prepared when contactinf them.
I'm so sorry you had to deal with that, and you should complain to the office, so that this doesn't happen again.
I'm so sorry, that is frustrating. I had a similar situation with the nurse during my mc, she asked me if I was aware that my levels were going done. Duh!! I was just there the other day for my fu appointment.
I no longer go to that practice and love my new doctor, the nurse and the entire office staff!!
