Trying to Get Pregnant
there is no *right* answer, but
just wondering how long you were all married before you started TTC? i know being ready is different for everyone, but i'm just curious.

DS was 3 years old when DH and I got married. We did want to wait until we had bought our house and felt financially ready to add another LO into the mix. We'll be celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary in November. I don't think for us, it was the length of time rather than feeling financially able.
We started 4 months before our 2nd anniversary.

We were married 3.5 years when we started TTC.
We actually decided about 6 months before getting married that we weren't going to have kids. But, around our 3 year anni, I suddenly had major "mommy" fever. (I like that term better because I don't just want a baby. I want to be a mommy.) Thankfully, DH decided that he would like a child as well. But, we waited a few months before trying because for a variety of reasons, we didn't want a 2009 baby.
LO#1 - 19 cycles, 3 IUIs, 1 m/c, gonal-f, ganirelix, ovidrel, progesterone
Totally worth the wait!

We were married 5 years before we started TTC.
4 Clomid cycles + 3 IUIs w/ injectables + 1 IVF = 1 m/c, 1 ectopic

I had intended to try to get pregnant on my own last summer. I stopped trying to find someone and new that I only had so much time to have children.
Then DH came along and asked that I give him a year. He and I dated back in college, over 14 years agon. He wanted to do things the old-fashioned way - date, get married and then have a child. I conceeded. We were married this past May and started immediately trying to have a child.
I feel like our story is something you would see in a movie. And I couldn't be happier.

Minus 3ish years.
We aren't married yet and probably won't be for a couple of years for a variety of reasons. But we are ready to start our family. It's unconventional, but works for us.?
