Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Bottle feeding question..

We have one box of the larger sized Dr. Brown's bottles and need to purchase more soon.  I was wondering about how many more boxes I would need (they come in 3 per package)?  I was thinking 2 more boxes but wasn't sure if I should buy 3 more.

As it is at this moment, he eats every 3-4 hours, including through the night, but I was told as they get older, they eat more but also have longer feeding intervals.

Re: Bottle feeding question..

  • At that age we had about 10 bottles, and washed frequently. We switched brands a few months back, and we have 7 bottles and use about 6 a day.

  • I have 5- 4oz. bottles and 6- 8oz. bottles.  I feel like I am washing bottles alot but I also wouldn't want to let them sit dirty for a while which they would if we had a ton of them.  Although if you run yours through the dishwasher, you may want more so you don't run out.
  • We have 12 of the 8 oz. bottles.
  • We made it through with 6 of the larger bottle and 2 smaller ones (we switched from Drop Ins originally).

Back then, there were a couple of times when I wished I had a couple more sometimes. But eventually we were down to 5 or 6 bottles a day -- and now just 4 -- so it worked out for us.

  • I say ... you can NEVER have too many bottles! then again I have TWO

we have about 23 Dr Browns and I feel like I'm Constantly washing bottles
