Sneaky way of asking about pregnancy

I was in the frame shop today to pick up a few things. I'm friendly with the counter person there, and she said to me today 'wow, you look great, have you lost weight?' I was so surprised to hear this considering how bloated I am, I blurted out 'are you kidding me, I gained weight, I'm pregnant!' She said 'I thought so!' The weight-loss line is apparently her sneaky way of asking if someone is pregnant without unintentionally offending by outright asking. Too funny! I might have to try this line out myself.

Sneaky McSneakerson! What an amazingly fantastic way to ask without offending! I got asked if I was pregnant a couple of times before I actually was. Huh?

It sucked hardcore. Not only was I not pregnant & wanted to be, I was also being told that I am fat. I would have appreciated thos peole having more tact like the frame store lady!
