EDD: October 31st, 2009
Type of BR:  Between modified to semi strict- I spend most of the day reclined in my recliner, lie down in bed once or twice a day for a bit, can go potty, shower daily (although that takes a lot out of me so I only do it every other day), and avoid going downstairs for anything.
Since when: 28 wks 4 days-Spent 5 1/2 days in hospital first
Reason: I went to local hospital with a "gut feeling" and a few more contractions than I had been having along with an aching like cramps and rectal pressure.  I had contractions every 4 minutes and a positive FFn with cervical shortening and funneling with some dilation.  Got transported to "mothership" hospital an hour away.  They switched the Mag to Nifedipine which I am tolerating "ok"- but still get really dizzy and weak a few times a day though BP is great- and the hot flashes are intense.  Got the betamethasone.

Re: ~~Bed Rest Mama's Weekend Check In!!~~

  • No updates been feeling great!  Ready for growth scan on Tues. morning and anxious to see how big this baby girl is!  Dr. said at last appointment she was measuring BIG!

QOTD:  Confession time... tell us something you need to get off your chest.... Anything!

I am toying with the idea of going somewhere today. Shhhh!!!! I  think it would be a good mental break to get out for a bit. My BP has been so good, blood work and urine came back great so we will see. Thinking we could maybe take a family trip to get some frozen yogurt.... which happens to be really close to the Babies R Us...Quick trio to get a few things for Lauren's room... I cannot decide. I should not tempt fate since things are going so well... DH got very nervous when I brought it up last night. I have cheated 2 other times (not bad for almost 9 weeks of bed rest) - once went to a movie and once for a pedi and my BP was elevated afterward both times but not too bad, went down quickly too.... what to do???

  • No real updates from me, either.  Left the hospital on Wednesday and things have been pretty good since then.  I see the MFM again on Monday, so fingers crossed that he won't send me back for some reason :)

QOTD:  I'm in the same boat as you mrsjrmiller!  Tomorrow is our anniversary and I REALLY want to at least get out of the house for a nice dinner.  Not sure how my husband will feel about it, and he's pretty much ignored me everytime I bring it up.  The few times I've gone out, my bp/heart rate jumps up, but I think it's due to all the "getting ready" that takes place beforehand.  I'm going to promise him I'll take it in steps all day tomorrow...

  • UPDATE: Went to the doctor yesterday and BP is elevated and some protein. My doctor says that she is thinking I won't go passed 29 weeks. I hoping I do.

CONFESSION: I'm kind of happy to be home with my son before baby Taylor get here. I know I can't do much with him but I love watching him. I've worked full time so this is nice to be able to spend some one on one time with him. It's going to be so hard to go back to work.

  • Morning all!  No real update from me - last night was not so good as DH and I argued - too much frustration about the whole situation....

My confession - I feel like I am getting lazier and lazier just laying around all day long.  I worry that when the baby gets here that I am going to have a hard time motivating myself and going back to work.

  • Had a really good day yesterday- no yucky side effects all day from the nifedipine!  Yeah!!  Last night woke up with nasty heartburn again, though.  I think I ate too late.  Still have it- Pepcid and maalox are only marginally helping.

Best friend came to babysit me :) last night for a few hours- made dinner and did a few tasks.  She is wonderful.  I am waiting for DD#1 to come home from a sleepover with cousins and for DH to come home.

My confession?  Well- I haven't been great about taking my vitamins at all.  It's not that I don't like them or they make me feel yucky- I just forget about them.  A lot.  And I intermittently feel guilty about it.  Thing is, I am an RN so I should know better- but, alas- I am still forgetting...

Funny thing I noticed, being new here and all- there are a lot of Meg or Megan's on here.  Weird.

  • Spent a few hours in L&D with contractions again yesterday. They were every 1-1.5 min and lasted 30-80 seconds- agh! Mostly seemed to be BH but since they were so regular and I was feeling all the pressure I got two shots of something that starts with a "t" and sent home on more bedrest and the nifedipine regiment.

QOTD:  Confession time... tell us something you need to get off your chest.... Anything!

My husband is really getting on my nerves. Its like he doesn't understand what bedrest means. He acts all whiny when I ask him to do something like run the dishes or throw in a load of laundry. Yeah, he hurt his finger pretty badly at work (had to get stiches) and I feel really bad about that but when Im thinking Im about to pop out a premiee I don't want to hear about how it hurts!

  • QOTD-

    Can I have several confessions?

One is that I have been eating whatever I want, whenever I want to, and then I complain to people about the 38lbs I've gained so far.

Another is that I seem to have selective BR over the last 2 weeks or so. When I want to go to Target, I say its okay to go. When I want DH to go to the grocery store, I tell him I need to lie down and he needs to go alone.

My third confession is that I am enjoying being home from work. When I first started BR and really really followed the BR rules, it was a little boring but I love tv and books so it really wasn't terrible. Now that I am allowing myself to get up more and more, I feel more like a SAHW than a disabled pregnant gal. I've been cooking and baking more, doing a little cleaning, etc. So when I go for my appts and my coworkers are like "oh bedrest must suck so much" I smile and lie thru my teeth and say yeah its horrible, all the while thinking "but at least I'm not here with you people working 36 hours a week at 9 months pregnant!"
