Can I weear white to my child's baptism?

or is that tacky? We are having a very large Italian baptism and party for our son. It is pretty formal. Chair covers, centerpieces, favors, the whole getup. We have about 120 coming to the event. We seriously have to invite all of these people, they are family.

Would this dress be ok to wear, or is the white a big mistake? Kinda like wearing white to a wedding.
